Saturday, for some inexplicable reason, Travis barfed in the parking lot of trader Joes. I thought it was because I kinda tossed him over my shoulder - compressing his tummy while getting him in the cart. Everything was okay, until some hours later, when we met the in-laws in San Jose for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Travis kept saying he had a tummy ache and didn't feel very good. Jeff rushed him outside a few times, just in case he puked again... nothing. Then took him into the bathroom the following time... because we were kinda convinced it was some sort of ploy to go outside, when daddy really just wanted to drink his margarita in peace.
Still, he wasn't acting himself... and he told me again he didn't feel well. I admit, I didn't jump up, cause well... it's sort of impossible for me to jump up right now.... and I was thinking this was just his way of being a pain while we waited for dinner. No such luck.
Thankfully, we had a folded-up sweatshirt with us... and I was able to catch the offending fluids - coupled with the fact that the Cheesecake Factory has really tall booths... anyway, the people around us were oblivious to the fact that my kid was puking. Ugh.
So.... we finished with dinner, and said goodbye to the il's... we went to the Apple Store so I could get a desperately-needed new case for my poor scratched up iPod... and drove the hour home.
Everything was quiet from the backseat... he fell asleep... but 5 or so miles from home, the poor kid puked again all over himself - and his carseat, while he was sleeping. We pulled over, cleaned him up as best we could, and went home.
After getting home, Jeff pulled out his carseat... which really needed to be cleaned... and the poor boy dry heaved all night.
Sunday, we had quite a few watery-barfing moments, but for the most part he was okay... Monday morning, he didn't listen to me.... and drank water too fast, causing it to come back up all over my couch, carpets, twice.
I think he's totally better now... no puking yesterday... despite eating fairly normally...
I - on the other hand have had stomach cramps since last night, and frequent visits to the bathroom to do something other than peeing throughout the night and this morning. No barfing, so crossing fingers! Hopefully, it's just a coincidence... cause damn.... we JUST went through all this crap a few weeks ago (no pun intended!)

Cold, wet, whiny...
Apparently, staying well is too much to ask. Case in point... sore throat, sinus pressure, stuffy,coughing... general malaise.. Ugh.
Lovely, no?
Yeah... and SOOO needed, cause, really? We haven't been sick in DAYS!
But, otherwise... I guess we're good. We took the Neon up to the Bay Area over the weekend, so that's finally done.
This weekend... we REALLY plan on putting Travis' bed back into his room, as well as making a storage run.
I want to get the infant carseat out of storage, and wash the cover, install it into the van... and put the extra base into Jeff's car. That way, we'll be prepared for whenever this baby comes, and Travis will have a visual reminder that the baby will be here SOON - as well as the fact that we're switching his carseat to the opposite side of the van.
In all reality, we still have plenty of time... I'm only 33 1/2 weeks - but still, it will make it easier for later.
Oh, it's raining... AGAIN... yay! We literally haven't left the house in 2 days... so I really want to go somewhere today. Easier said than done... I don't want to go exposing anyone to these cold germs... but I think a Starbucks/Target run is definitely in order. I haven't had any coffee since Monday... just tea. So, yeah, that would be nice... except for the inevitable heartburn.
Plus, I probably should make a Trader Joes run, to stock up on milk, yogurt, and SOMETHING for tonight's dinner. Wish me luck...

Ok, enough with the bodily fluids, already!
Well, not out of the woods yet.
Last night I went to knit... and then we went on a Papa John's Pizza run. It was yummy... and Travis was totally digging it.
All was calm, until right before bed.
After an entire day of nothing coming up, Travis had a pizza barf, right before midnight. All over our (unwashable) runner carpet. Wow. Superfun!! :(
And this morning, plaintive pleas for water... and dry heaves. He's been resting/napping on and off for the last couple of hours. Poor thing still has nothing in his stomach. :(
It's weird... he seemed to be getting better... and yet, at night, and this morning, the hurleys come back with a vengeance.
And, this morning, sheets had to be changed again, because somehow he peed all over the bed... while fully clothed, and in a diaper. When I changed his diaper? It was dry. WTF? I'm thinking, he just somehow peed out of the top of it? Honestly, I have no idea.
I know this... I need a shower, I need to do laundry... I need to clean my bathroom, and unload/reload the dishwasher. My cervix HURTS! My pelvis is KILLING ME! I want Starbucks! I'm tired of having heartburn! We are out of clean towels, despite washing EVERY SINGLE ONE on Sunday. And, I have had ENOUGH contact with bodily fluids for a nice long while!

Pooper Tuesday...
Well, Travis threw up last night. 8:30pm, 9:30ish pm, and 1:00am. And then had the MOST foul/messy/disgusting/eeeew!!! diaper like, um EVER! this morning... necessitating both a complete sheet change for our bed, and an emergency shower/bath for him. The kid was COVERED. Ugh.
So... yeah...hoping it gets better, cause if it doesn't... I'm gonna scream.

It's gonna be a long day...
Travis woke up barfing at about 5:00 am. All over our new 400 count sheets, of course. It was mostly water, but still. So far, he's done it 4-5 times... Poor guy. :(
Wish us luck.
Wish us luck.

Dreaming of a Well Christmas....
Things. They are getting done! Shopping is 99.9% finished... the calendars went to the printer today. We had a proof done last night, and I finalized everything.... looks great! :)
Gift knitting, it's nearly complete.... not doing too much more, really. I want to be able to knit some cute girly things for Ashley... so I am glad the Christmas knitting is almost done! :)
BUT.... with the good also comes the not-so-good...
Travis has had a cough since Monday. I had bad insomnia last night. Like, I woke up at 3:00 am and couldn't go back to sleep. Until like 6:00 am. Plus it was storming outside, really the wind was howling... and this damned tree branch kept smacking the window right outside our room. When I woke iup, I felt like I am coming down with something, too. Ugh. Sore throat, general achy feeling. Sucky. Yup, it is. I had a Coldbuster from Jamba Juice this morning instead of Starbucks. Waaah! :(
And I am taking Zicam... so, hopefully whatever this is will be short-lived. So, um.... Santa? Please? Take pity on the pregnant lady who does NOT wish to be sick on Christmas. Thanks!

Some Disassembly Required....
I'm holding my breath..... Travis threw up twice yesterday, and has been filling diapers with especially fetid material at an increased rate. He has been a little more poopy than normal for the last couple of days... but that happens, sometimes for no explicable reason. But, yesterday - early afternoon - after a lovely brunch out with my dad... He threw up his Mickey-shaped pancake and sausage all over the backseat. Yeah. Lovely.
Luckily, most of it was contained by his car seat. Unluckily, those bastards that make the Eddie Bauer car seat we have made it damn near IMPOSSIBLE to remove the carseat cover in order to launder it. Meaning? The harness straps needed to be completely unthreaded, and much wrestling and swearing ensued trying to take the damn thing apart.
AND the straps are not removable... which means I was Googling "how to remove vomit smell from carseats" at 7:30 last night. And taking a special drive to Whole Foods shortly thereafter for BacOut, and Green Mountain Gringo Salsa. (They work separately, not together!) ;)
So, I poured that Bac-out all over the straps, and let it soak in. It worked!!! Now it smells a LOT less like barf. YAY!
Don't even get me started on re-assembling the damn thing. Ugh.
Anyway... no barf yet today. Sigh. It looks like The Wiggles will be on in an endless loop today. Hooray!

Smooth
The theme at Mama Says Om this week is Smooth.
Travis has been sick with the stomach flu, and napping a lot.
I love his sweet, super-soft, and smooth tum-tum. He calls it his "tuh-tuh". Too cute!
Get better soon, little man!
