I know what you mean about "terrible twos". J's smack in the middle, with massive tantrums, "drama prince" moments and climbing/getting into everything. The tantruming is what's driving us all crazy. Makes me not want to go anywhere with him for fear of him being disruptive. *sigh* My daughter went through that stage and we stayed home until her behavior improved. Probably gonna do the same with him. Just call me "home Bound Mama". ;-)

Ooooo...I have one of those "danger baby" kids too. He's 2 now and he still gives Mama a heart attack...like when he tries to jump off the back of the couch. *sigh* He stopped trying to stand up in carts and high chairs the day I threatened him, in that patented "make my day" voice, with certain death if he didn't "SIT (his) ASS DOWN IN THAT CART THIS INSTANT!"... yep, right in the middle of Trader Joe's on a busy Saturday afternoon. I got a lot of dirty stares but it worked! ;-) He was just about 11 months then but smart as a whip - don't mess with mama when she uses THAT voice.

Your entry reminded me of exactly how I felt when J was under 1. My 2 kids are 22 months apart and when the youngest was born, this sea of exhaustion/busy chaos washed over me. I didn't come up for air until after his 1st birthday and even then, it took a lot of swimming and hassle to get back where I started. ;-)

OK, enough with the water analogies. I just wanted to say that yes, we all feel that way and yes, it usually calms down after a while....a long while but yes, there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Just do yourself a favor: when this passes and you start thinking about having another kid, come back to this entry... ;-)

Personally, the internet was my savior during all of that chaos. I was able to have some adult contact and coversation, thanks to instant messenger, and consult other moms about the "mysteries of kids". I never felt alone...

But yes, a lot got left in translation once the 2nd kid was born. I'm not so anal, I let things slide, and if there weren't deadlines or due dates, nothing would get done...EVEN NOW! LOL

Keep your head up and keep slodging along. You'll make it!

*hugz* I know how your feel. W's almost 4 and J will be 2 next week and I still have the same "pull my hair out, go screaming around the room" sorts of days you're talking about. All I can suggest is taking one day at a time, don't take on too much and end each day with a hug and a "I love you." ;-) This too will pass....

My nursing-friendly chocolate "shake"...
one packet carnation instant breakfast (200 cals...sugar free...blue box), one serving chocolate superfoods (not to worry, it tastes great!),teaspoon or so of ground chia or flax seeds, frozen strawberries and mango (or your favorite combo), fat free milk and a squeeze of chocolate syrup. today i added about 1/4 avacado just becuase it was left over. blend until smooth! i think it's got enough in it for a partial meal replacement and often do this when i forget to eat lunch or breakfast.
