I was on iTunes, and Travis brought me a ballband dishcloth I'd just cast-on. I only knitted a few rows. He was super-excited, and said
"Travis STITCH! Travis STITCH yarn!"
He'd unraveled a few stitches, but it was no big deal. I cast on some stitches onto a bamboo circular needle, and knitted a couple of rows with some bulky craft store acrylic... he's having the BEST time pretending to "stitch" like mommy! Aww!

Graduation Day....
Sorry for the lack of updates.... we've been out and about, and enjoying the nice weather.
I have been doing the gym thang 2-3 times a week.... always Monday and Friday, and sometimes Thursday. The other mornings we have playgroups and other scheduled stuff. Afternoons just don't work.... But, hey, it's something, right?
Today Travis had his "graduation" at Parent's Place. We are moving to the late morning slot, and since he is 3 in November, we will have to stop going then. I don't know when they "kick us out" but hopefully we can still go to the drop-in classes a bit longer.
It's hard to believe we've been going since I was a 2.5-month-postpartum, overwhelmed, no sleep having mom with a floppy big-headed infant....

And here we now......

He's so big, and bright, and outgoing! He knows shapes, and numbers, and colors, and amazes me every day! And me? Well, I think I've finally figured out most of the day-to-day goings on.

More Stitchin' than Bitchin'
I found a nice local knitting group and I went today for the first time tonight. I met on of the ladies online through Ravelry.

She recently moved to the Peninsula, from the East Coast, and has a 2 year old son. YAY!
The other Tuesday night knitting group seems to have dissolved since the late spring/ early summer is setting in. I was kinda bummed, but this group seems very cool! :)

Dr. Google
Saturday night at around 1:00am I woke up. I had a pulling pain in my chest. Then this cold, tingly feeling crept from my right shoulder down to my hand. My heart was racing. I felt REALLY, REALLY not well. I got out of bed, and wanted to go get some water. My heartbeat was faster than it has ever been, and as soon as I got up, I started feeling very faint. I thought something was SERIOUSLY wrong. I was convinced I was dying.
I shook Jeff awake "Hey! We need to go to the hospital. I think I'm having a heart attack, or a stroke." I threw on some clothes. Jeff was very groggy, but jumped out of bed. I held his hand to my chest, and said, "my heart is racing, I feel like I am going to pass out."
He quickly got dressed. I got my wallet out of my bag, and went down the hall.
I started thinking that it would just suck to have to pack Travis into the car, and go to the ER. I told Jeff to chill for a few, and I got some water. Slowly, I starting feeling better. After about 15 minutes, I felt mostly normal.
I apologized to Jeff a million times, and we went back to sleep shortly thereafter.
It bothered me all day yesterday... even as we were out and about. I profusely apologized to Jeff throughout the morning, and he kept assuring me that it was ok.
We hung out with my dad, and went to the water park, then came back here and grilled a tri-tip.
After he left, I Googled. I Googled "Mold Spores and heart racing", remembering how my Chiropractor was convinced that mold spores cause insomnia. Anyway, I don't know how I came upon it, but I Googled, and surfed, and finally found a site.... and as I read my symptoms verbatim:
* “Racing” heart
* Feeling weak, faint, or dizzy
* Tingling or numbness in the hands and fingers
* Sense of terror, of impending doom or death
* Feeling sweaty or having chills
* Chest pains
* Breathing difficulties
* Feeling a loss of control
.....I realized what happened. I had a panic attack. In the middle of the night. Wacky, huh?
I have no idea what caused it, and it's never happened before.... so, I am just confused now.

Found in Translation
Must get out of this once a week blogging rut. Ugh.
So, sore throat is about 99.8% gone. YAY! And, I have been to the gym 3 times since last week. Monday, Thursday, and this Monday. Going this morning, too. Travis seems to like it fine.... he fights me getting ready, but then, he's VERY 2 at the moment... and fights with gravity. Sigh.
In the last couple of weeks he's pottied a couple of times in the potty. Not to be repeated.... another sigh. And, he was doing well, sleeping in his bed a couple nights a week. But, alas... since Saturday. Nada. Again...Sigh.
Also, he's taken to saying "OOOH, SHIT!" So, yeah. You know that Parent of the Year Award... not happening this year. We have really tried not to swear as much in front of him, but you know.... kids latch on to EXACTLY what you don't want them to say and do. Grr.
On a happier note, Travis is becoming more vocal. He is dropping some of the "babyish" words for things. ie: "Lala" has become (usually) "water". And always identifies it by the color of the cup it resides in "Blue Water" "Guhreen Water" "Ellow Water!"
Travis thrives on routine. Each morning he wakes up and asks for "Flower 'ogurt, and Oggerries 'ogurt" (= Flower Yogurt = Trader Joes Vanilla) (Oggerries= Trader Joes Blueberry) Most afternoons he requests "Cheese Seeich, please!" For Lunch (Grilled cheese sandwich) and "Cheese an Crackers" for snack.
He calls my car "Mommy Spiderman 'ilber car" (Mommy's Spiderman Silver Car) because someone gave us a Spiderman antennae ball. He says things like "Mommy, GYM! Mommy EXERCISE! Mommy, RIGHTBACK! " Whenever we drive past the gym. When we go past the grocery store he excitedly yells out "SHOPPING!" or "YAY! TRADERJOES!"
The child can ID a Starbucks at 30 paces "'ARBUCKS! COFFEEPLACE!" 'ELLOWDONUTPLEASEM&MBARPLEASEthankyou!" (Yellow donut please, M & M bar, please, thank you!)
He runs things together like that. And whenever he wants to proclaim his pride by doing something he says "Big boy ____bysewf!" (by self).
He loves the park. He'll say "Choochoo park" or "Beach" or "Amium" (aquarium) or "BYEBYE SOON!" "BOOKSTORE!" When he wants to go out of the house.
He can do a High 5, Down Low, and "Knuckles" and if you ask him how old he is he says "Twoandhalf!"
When given a choice, like "Travis, do you want Pizza, or Mac 'n Cheese for dinner?" He goes back and forth. "Mac n Cheese or Tizza? Tizza? Mac N Cheese?" And usually ends with "YES! Tizza! Yes, Mac N Cheese!"
So, as much as my little man loves to drive me nuts by reverting into a mini-caveman.... pointing yelling, grunting, and throwing things.... he really is coming into his own.... and starting to figure out this world around him.
I am amazed each day at his perception, and intelligence, and sweetness. I love my little boy!

Responsible & Shit... ;)
So.... it's Monday.... I have been seriously lagging in the blogging department. Sigh.
Last week, it seriously sucked weather-wise here.... grey and overcast All Day - Every Day! I was getting depressed.... seriously.
We also skipped our usual Tuesday park, and Wednesday playgroup, due to lack of sleep (me) and runny nose (Travis).
But, on Saturday, we kicked ass!
We went out to breakfast with my dad. Then afterward, I asked if we could borrow my dad and his truck for a few hours. We FINALLY donated all the crap that's been cluttering up our lives, and went to our storage, and purged a ton of stuff. We consolidated, and made room for the many boxes and totes of Travis' outgrown baby items. Including our stroller. Eh hem.
I can no longer do my walk on Thursdays, because Travis acts like our BOB stroller is killing him every time we try. He ends up screaming for 1 1/2 miles. and I have to put him in the Mei Tai and carry him up the hills on my back. Aww hell to the NAW!
I decided to bite the bullet, and join the gym. Suddenly $300 for 6 months doesn't seem so bad. ;) They have really reasonably-priced child-care, and today was our first day.
Travis cried at first, when I tried to leave the room - but the nice young lady assured me that someone would come and get me if he didn't calm down.
So, I went into the cardio room, and got on the PreCor Elliptical Machine. I turned on the FitPod podcasts I downloaded. Ugh. Wasn't feeling it.... tooo slow!
Then I put on the Crystal Method Nike Drive Mix, and I was OFF! For the next 40 minutes, I sweated, and sweated, and drank water, and Felt. The. BURN!
My heartrate averaged at 135 bpm. So, not too bad, considering my lack of regular exercise....
I showered, and went back to my locker. For the life of me - I could NOT remember my combination to the lock I'd just purchased. I tried, and tried, wrapped in a towel.... and got more and more frustrated. I KNEW the numbers! I just couldn't remember the order. Grr! SO, they cut it off with bolt-cutters, so I could get dressed and fetch The Boy.
He was playing, and chilling, and I was told he did very well. That made me super-happy! :)
We went out to Chipotle for lunch, and then hit the Bath & Body Works sale. Yummy!
We came home, and napped, and I really must get motivated enough to unload and re-load the dishwasher and fold 3 loads of laundry before Jeff gets home. Um, and dinner. Must make dinner.
Later!
