No wonder I eloped....
DRAMA, DRAMA, DRAMA!

Why do people actually have big old weddings, bachelorette parties, etc? It's SUCH a pain in the ass! ESPECIALLY when one of the girls *cough* MAID OF HONOR! isn't pulling her weight. Ack! I mean, I have no problem with having tasks delegated to me. Really, I don't. But when someone says she "Has eveything handled" for the bachelorette party... and then can't pick out invites, or decorations, or FIND A LIMO! because she waited too damn long... and now we're contending with the Prom crowd. Ugh. I just want it to be over. And, my poor friend who's getting married is about ready to have a nervous breakdown. So, guess who has been calling around all morning trying desperately to find a freaking 12-14 passenger limo 3 weeks before the party? Yup, you guessed it! Good old Christine. Being the reliable one sucks the big one, sometimes!

Self-improvement time!
Woohoo! Another day of SUN! :) So, I had gone and decided to take some classes at the community college, or Adult schools this session (summer). I fugured, you know, something light, fun, and a perfect chance to get me out of the house in the evening a couple of days a week. Photography, cake-decortating, yoga, something? Hmm. But, as I perused the catalogue of courses, I was saddened to find not ONE class started before 10am on a weekday... or before 5:30 in the evening. Bleh. But, not all is lost. I remembered that I live within a stone's throw of a dance studio, where bellydance is offered. I started bellydance up a long while back, with a friend from my old job. We went for probably 6 months, or so. I really enjoyed it. So, I'm going to start tomorrow. They offer a free intro class (since I will most likely be starting from zero again)and I'll take it from there. It will be good. It'll give me time away, and Jeff some nice 1-on-1 time with The Boy.

Frankly, though... the thought of baring my still very jiggly, stretch-marked mid-section terrifies me.

Tooth Trouble...
Sigh.... Well, at least it's not raining. I mean nearly everyday for the last few weeks... oh it sucks! Especially with a toddler who's tired of being cooped up indoors, and a mommy who is about ready to start drinking. Heavily.

Also, I think maybe Travis has a "c" word. Yup, my little guy may have a *whisper* cavity. Ugh!

I noticed a couple of mornings ago, when I was spooning yogurt into his open bird-mouth. One of his lower teeth looked like it had some whitish, yellowish food stuck in it, but on the back of the tooth, on the bottom near the gumline - not on the front. It's actually quite hard to even see this particular spot. It involved having his mouth wide open, and me being slightly below him. So, I've tried brushing. It's hard enough to keep his mouth open, let alone being able to see it at that angle. I thought it was gotten, I thought I was being thourough... but yesterday at playgroup, I was feeding him snack, kneeling next to him, while he sat in a little chair. I saw it again. When we got home, I pinned him down, and tried to hold his mouth open to see while I brushed. He screamed. I repeated the scenario with Jeff after dinner, replete with flashlight. It's STILL there! So, I am calling to find a pediatric dentist. They are all either closed or at lunch at the moment.

I guess he was supposed to go to the dentist when his 1st tooth came in. Like at 6 months? That seems rediculous! Well, this will be our first trip.

I found some info online regarding "nursing caries" - basically, bottles at night, and to a lesser extent, nursing - can cause cavities. We brush, and he likes brushing, mostly. But at night, he's cranky, and I usually end up brushing them while he's asleep. I am also guilty of nursing him to sleep... both for naps, and at night... and he still latches on a couple of times in the early morning hours. Ack.... I hope, hope, hope it's nothing serious. Maybe it's just some tartar, or a mineral build-up - or something. I just don't know what I'd do if my poor little man had to deal with a cavity right now.
I feel like such a bad mommy. :(

Getting closer
We're meeting my friend who's getting married in a few hours in San Jose. I'm going to help her register for naughty things at Fredericks. Also, I need to shop for clothes. Badly. My jeans are, once again, rediculously huge on me. All of my shirts are also too big. Yay! I tried on the dress for the first time since we picked it up. Oh, my.... it SO needs to be taken in! Hopefully I can find someone who can do it... it's a really delicate fabric, and the ribbon that goes around it needs to be shortened, too. But, since the satin ribbon is sewn around the back, and into the zipper panel, so it's going to involve taking the dress apart to alter it. Yikes!

I am about 40 lbs from my "goal" weight. Although that's still about 10-15 lbs off from my ideal weight, I will be so happy once I reach it. I am only 6 pounds away from ONEderland. Woohoo!

Rambling weekend
We have sunshine!!! For the first time in, oh, I dunno - WEEKS! YAY! No more rain and miserableness... hopefully it lasts awhile!

Sunday afternoon, MIL & SIL came down to visit us. SIL was due back at Banana Slug U Monday afternoon. It was really nice... We went out to lunch for Japanese on Sunday. Then, for a walk around the wharf, etc... it started to rain, but let up as we were walking back home.

Then, we came back here and hung out for a bit. We decided I would make pasta and we would play some Texas Hold 'Em. Fun times! :) We killed a bottle of wine and talked, and talked.... we started talking about stuff the kids (Jeff and his brother - his sister is a goody-two-shoes) used to do, like coming in by curfew, and then sneaking back out later. Ha! I'm getting an alarm system so our kid(s) won't be able to pull that!

They went back to their hotel around 12:30 am, and we got up and met them for breakfast at 8:00 on Monday morning. We had to do it early, 'cause Jeff needed to go to work. Afterwards, we all (sans Jeff) went to the Tots in Motion class. It was a lot of fun to be able to introduce them to the moms I always talk about, and MIL got to spend some good 1 on 1 time with The Boy. We hung out for about an hour, and decided to hit the Tin Cannery Outlets for some shopping, and since it was raining, it was a good thing we did.

Travis slept the whole time in his jogger, and we took turns watching him so we could try on clothes. I didn't buy anything... one brand's size 14/16 is another brand's 10/12, or so it seems. Sigh.

Sadly, then they had to be on their way after a couple of hours.... :(
Travis and I went to Border's and I went through the drive-thru Starbucks and got a full-fat Caramel Macchiato with extra caramel for the first time in many, many months. It was evertything I thought it would be, and more!

April Foolin' Me
So.... I was all insane last week... I totally convinced myself I could be *gulp* you know... knocked up again... and obsessively counted the days 'til I could test early. For example, with Travis.... I tested faintly + for the first time at 10 dpo (days past ovulation).

So, Friday morning, being The Day, I went to Target and put a huge-ass package of SIZE 5 diapers in the cart. I nonchalantly perused the discreet (HA!) "section" where all of the feminine hygene, lube, and other embarrassing products can be found. I settled on one of those newfangled digital Clearblue dealies.... 2 for the price of 1, and all that. I made my way up to the front of the store, and made sure I got into a woman's checkstand. I made eye contact, and smiled, etc. Seriously, I don't think you're an adult when you can buy pregnancy tests without being totally mortified. I paid, and we left. I was cool, composed, and confident. No big deal, right?

As soon as I was in the car, it was a whole different story. I tore into the package like a crazed test-obsessed junkie woman. You see, being 10:00am, I wasn't going to be using the preferred first morning pee. Nope, I was instead witholding liquids since 8:30 am and "holding it" until I got home. Yeah, I'm not going to take a pregnancy test in my car, people... :)
I just wanted to be sure I was clear (HA!) on the directions of The Test.

We went home, and I plopped Travis in front of Zoboomafoo. I assembled The Test, and went to the potty. I carefully aimed the stick into my pee. I only managed to get a little on my hands, LOL! :)

I waited, and waited, and waited.... The digital display started to flash, indicating that the test was working, and processing. Then, those golden words appeared. Not Pregnant. Woo hoo! :) As much as I really want another little one,I REALLY want to wait til The Boy is 2 before we do this again.

Wanna know a secret? I never told hubby about any of this, AND I started my period the NEXT morning of APRIL FOOL'S day. Yup, the old Universe was laughing at my dumb ass for spending 10 bucks on a test only to let me know for SURE the next day what the answer was. So, either my cycle is apparently all whacked out, or I am really crappy at keeping track of what day my March period started, or BOTH.
