Since my last post I have:
1. Called my very good friend and asked her to take thelemon cheesecake bars with her to the Mom's group. (Not before eating a stubborn one that was stuck in the pan. YUM!)
2. Been promised by same wonderful friend a Starbuck's coffee beverage of my choosing when she is done with said Mommy's group.
3. Talked to my insurance adjustor regarding my accident.
4. Scheduled a damage appraisal/photos to be taken of my car tomorrow morning at 9:30am.
5. Changed an EXTREMELY stinky poopy diaper.
6. Sprayed Bath & Body Works "A Perfect Fall" Apple room spray all through the house following the diaper change.
7. Moved Travis away from the dvd player and computer power button and my iPod charger. Hey, I though being sick was supposed to slow babies down!
8. Started chicken veggie soup in my slow cooker for all of us. (Including baby boy!)
9. Watched 3 episodes of Tivod "Martha" show. I like it a lot! :) It"s a good thing! I'm still working on the
oragami t-shirt folding trick.
So far, 'm not all that moved by the Martha Stewart Apprentice show... she's not mean enough. We all know there's a bitch in there just dying to come out!
So, that's about it... wonder if I can talk hubby into pizza delivery for dinner tonight? Wish me luck.

Baby's first sniffles
It's official. Travis has his first cold. With coughing, and sneezing, and congestion... oh my! Poor little guy. Jeff brought this cold home... and now I'm feeling a bit off as well. Stupid cold! This morning I put The Boy in a Vapor Bath, and lathered the Johnson's Soothing Vapor Cream, and used the Little Remedies Saline spray. A little of mommy's milk, and voila! Now he's a happily sleeping baby.
Sigh. So, now I'm going to miss my last Mom's Group with this teacher as we are "graduating" to the morning class. It's okay, I'd rather stay here and cuddle with my little man. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to eat the Lemon Cheesecake Bars I made for the class. Darn. :)
So yeah... that's the way it is... :)
Going to download illicit music now.... bye bye.

You saw my blinker, bitch....
So I've broken my streak... 28 years without being involved in a car accident. Some stupid bitch hit me today. We're okay, though. My car door is pretty crunched, though. I was turning onto the street I live on... about 1/2 block down. I had slowed down from the speed limit (25) to make my left turn. I was using my turn signal. I am a freak about my signals... I ALWAYS use them - no matter what... All of a sudden I hear screeching brakes and heard and felt the crash. Then I realize it's my car that was hit. I pulled over to the side of the road. It was surreal. I checked my baby mirror right away.. Travis was still asleep in his carseat! Amazing, huh?
Once I figured out Tavis was ok, I got out of my car. I was shaking. The other girl (from here on known as Clueless Bitch) was already out of her car. I walked over to make sure everyone was okay. They were. She gave me this sob-story about how she had been driving one of her kids to the hospital for some neck problem. She had her 3 years old, and 10 year old in the car. Clueless Bitch was driving a 1990 Buick POS. Hey, I may not have the greatest car... but my 2001 Silver Neon is cute. And it's paid off... but because of that, I have no collision insurance on it.
Anyway, I asked Clueless Bitch whether she had insurance. She says she doesn't know. Yeah okay... well she said the car was given to her a few days ago, and she's in the process of switching everything over... whatthefuckever. So I get the non-emergency police # from 411 on my cell. I took a picture of her license plate with my cell camera, just in case she tried to bail. I called it in, and then call my hubby. His office is only a few minutes away, thank goodness. He was there in 5 minutes. I wanted to make sure Travis was taken care of while I handled the shit with the police. The cops took FOREVER! Like, as in nearly 40 minutes. Hello? Where are my tax dollars going, people? I know I'm a stay-at-home-mom NOW, but I haven't always been. Jeez.
So we gave our stories... and apparently Jeff overheard the Clueless Bitch saying that I veered to the right like I was parking at the lake, and she "didn't know" whether I signaled. Whatever. Why the hell would I do that? That's just freaking stupid. I think she was distracted and didn't have her attention on driving, and she hit me.
It seemed like the officers believed my version of the events. (Because I was telling the TRUTH) I never waivered from what happened. I stayed calm, and pulled together. (Having hubby there tending to the Boy helped A LOT!) Clueless Bitch changed her story a couple of times, including changing the part about which side of her car struck mine. It appears as though she isn't the registered driver of the car either. She had not called her insurance company to switch the coverage over to the Buick. Dumb bitch.
So, yeah... we'll find out in 7-10 days what the verdict is. The police report should be available then. I have Uninsured Motorist Insurance. Of course I do! I live in California... AKA Mexico del Norte, people. Half of the drivers here are uninsured.
Blech. I was having such a good day, too. But it's much better than it could have been. We're not hurt. Thank goodness for that. My car can be fixed... I just am SO glad my baby boy is fine.

All better!
Ahh... the sweet sound of a WORKING DISHWASHER!!! They came yesterday to install it... and this is the first time I've used it. It's lovely! :)
It's the small things in life, right?
I feel better... and so does Baby Boy. Apparently, my cold was manifesting in gastric upset for the poor little guy. :(
I gave him lots and of love and Gerber Pedialyte stuff... and he's great now. He's such a sweety! He started doing a tiny bit of crawling Sunday night. The only catch? It's backwards crawling. How funny is he? He's also become obsessed with the heating vent on the wall in the hallway. He'll go over to it and stick his fingers in the grates and move them to hear the noise it makes. I noticed this morning he's got a 7th! tooth coming through. This morning when I was feeding him something new for breakfast he was smiling because it was good. I said "Yum Yums breakfast, Travis?!" And he NODDED YES at me and smiled! How cool is that? I love him so much!
Going to go jump in the shower now while The Boy is engrossed in the Wiggles in his Baby Papasan swing. I don't know what I'm going to do when he outgrows that thing... he's close...

Colds blow
The last few days have rendered me usless. And crabby. I have a cold. Bitchass colds suck! I'm achy and have head pressure and sore throat, headache, etc.
My poor baby has watery poops because of all the vitamin C I've been taking. I'm laying off the C, see?
So, yeah. Lameness abounds. And my dishwasher is apparantly being replaced because of the leak it's been causing in the downstairs neighbor's apartment. Don't know when the new one will be here... Yay for new dishwasher! Boo For not being able to use it for the last week. I have lots of dirty dishes in the sink. I don't want to wash them by hand. I am lazy, and achy, and lame.
The End.

Field Trip!
Yesterday we went with our Mom's Group to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was a lot of fun! Travis loved it! I think we're going to get some family passes... with the winter coming up, it will be a good time to go. Less tourists... and when the weather turns crappy... it's a great place to go instead of being stuck at home.
I've lived here my whole life... and I went to the Aquarium way back when they first opened. I've been there many times, but the last time was 5 or so years ago. It's much cooler than I remembered!

Relaxing....
It was a nice holiday weekend...
Friday night we went out with my dad to Chili's. (His treat!) Saturday... we just shopped for groceries... and got our new fish tank. It's only 6 gallons, but it's just right for some fish we'll put in once the tank is conditioned. The betta is in it right now... he's SO happy! It's like Trump Tower compared to the tiny other bowl he was in.
Yesterday we went with my dad and Travis (of course!) to the water park about an hour away. It's almost closed for the season, so we have to go a couple of more times before then.
We came home, and ate beef brisket slowcooker bbq I had started that morning. It was yummy! Then we watched the first disc of "Entourage" we rented from NetFlix. it's pretty funny.
Today we went out to brunch just us and the Boy. We fed him yogurt while we waited for our breakfast. He was SO good in the high chair! He sat there the entire time we were eating! Friday night too! I think the trick is to feed him too while we're eating. At Chili's he had some mashed potatoes, and a bit of my chicken, and chewed on some ribs. It's so crazy that he's eating "real" food now! :)
After brunch we went for a drive along the beach. We stopped in Pacific Grove and took Travis to the tide pools for a bit.
Then I had my La Leche thing to go to, so I took Travis, and Jeff went to the office for a bit. My car started doing that thing again today! That not wanting to start thing! I took it in about a month ago to be serviced and looked at... but who knows why it's still having these issues?! It's not happening all the time, so unless they can get it NOT to start they can't fix it. But when I bring it in... IT ALWAYS STARTS! I hate cars!
After all that stuff... we came home and did laundry. We watched more of the Amazing Race Marathon on TiVo. Then, I strapped Travis into the Moby Wrap, and we walked along the beach just before sunset. it was really nice! We came home and watched more Amazing Race marathon, and made a Boboli pizza and salad for dinner.
So, just plain old nice family stuff. I love my life!
