Bags are (almost) packed!
Bags for the hospital are almost completely packed. I have most of my stuff, less the going home outfit for me, and clothes for Jeff. All of baby's stuff is packed. More stuff than I'm sure he needs, but oh well...

Yesterday when I went in for my twice-weekly ob appt, my BP was 150/100. Holy batshit, Robin! No protein in my pee, apparantly no swelling in my brain, and the non-stress test was A-okay.

Also, I had an owie-full internal exam, cervix is thinned a bit and shorter, but no dialation yet.

I go in tomorrow, for another NST, and such. my Dr. mentioned inducing as a real possiblility... although he'd prefer me to start dialating on my own. I agree. I don't want a C-section unless I really have to have one!

So, it looks like I could have thus kiddo much sooner than I thought. (Possibly this week!) Woah. Well, I'll keep you all informed...

On another note, we took Mr. Kitty over to my dad's last night. They're getting along famously. I'm glad. My dad lives in a studio apartment so I hope they stay friends. Also, he's not allowed to have pets. Oh well, rules were meant to be broken, right?

Also, I bought Travis a santa hat today. It's a set that comes with a hat, a bib and booties. SO cute! I'm a sick, sick lady! :)

We're moving in, baby's moving out!
We're about 90% moved in, and 20% unpacked. Ok, 15% unpacked.... :)

Sigh. I love the new place. No obnoxious neighbors, nice neighborhood. Close to everything. Yay!

Went to the Dr. this am for my regular weekly check-up. Baby is great. I found out I do have Strep-B, though. No big deal since they treat it with antibiotics during labor. I go back Thursday to check in regarding my BP... it was 150/90 this morning. Grr.

Did a non-stress test, passed with flying colors. He wasn't moving at first, and then the nurse used this buzzer thing, and he jumped! Cute! Oh well. He's consindered term now, so I'm not too worried if they have to induce cause of my BP.

I've also had a TON of Braxton-Hicks contractions over the last week. And the baby does this thing where he balls up on one side of my abdomen under my ribs. It's like his butt or something is sticking out. It's cute and round, so I think it is his little butt. It's funny, and a little uncomfortable, but I like it. So, anytime now... I should be packing my hospital bag, and unpacking boxes... but I am so tired I think I'll lay on the couch instead. :)

Ready for launch!
Yay! I went to my Ob appt. this morning. My bp is still a little elevated, 140/85 but I've lost 7 lbs since Wednesday! I had previously gained 12 lbs in 2 weeks, due to all the swelling and water retention. So a 5 lb weight gain in 2 weeks is a LOT better than 12 lbs! I knew it was water weight, because I can barely eat anything anymore. My stomach is so full of baby, there's hardly any room for food!

ALSO, he's turned head down, and ready for launch! Woohoo! I was pretty sure he wasn't breech anymore because I always feel kicking and moving right below my ribs. What I have been suspecting all along is his kneecap most likely is his kneecap. It's so weird when it moves, in in little circles under my skin!

My chiro adjustment was SO nice! I really needed it!

I am now waiting for the Property Management people to come and show the house. They'll probably be here any minute, but last Friday the person they were going to show it to flaked out. We'll see.

Just need to finish packing tonight... the closets, and kitchen, and under the bathroom sink. We go pick up the keys at 4:30 to the new place. :)

Tick tock....
Travis has had the hiccups three time since I woke up this morning. Poor little guy.

So yesterday my BP was a little elevated, no protein, and seemingly no bad lab results as the Dr. didn't call me back. He said he would if there was anything to worry about. No news is good news, right?

I go to my regularly scheduled OB appt. with MY Dr. tomorrow morning at 9:30am . My ankles are still swollen, but not nearly as bad as they were. They're going to so an ultrasound to make sure the little guy is indeed head down. (Please! Please! Be head down!)

Then I go to my chiro appt at 11:00am , and they are showing the house at 1:00pm, and we go pick up the moving truck at 3:00pm, and go sign our lease agreement and pick up the keys to the new place at 4:30 tomorrow afternoon. Whew! That's gonna be one busy day!

So when Jeff gets home tonight we're going to tidy up the house a bit, so that it's in showing condition... touch up the bathrooms, and sweep the kitchen, and stuff like that.

The roommate is home sick today. Ick. If he breathes on me I WILL kill him! Jeff and I stared spraying Lysol anytime he walks through the common areas of the house. Lots of antibacterial soap is being employed, believe me!

I can't wait for the few remaining days where Jeff and I will be all by ourselves in our new place! (And then with Travis, of course!) But, no roomate, no other person to get us sick, or eat our food, or just generally annoy the hell out of us. At least with a baby, you have the bonus of a cute snuggly little doll baby who loves and appreciates you taking care of them, and shares your DNA. You know? It does make a huge difference!

Dr. appts...
So Saturday is M day... moving!!

I went to the Dr. today... actually, his partner - my Dr. is on vacation. I called my Dr. this weekend because my feet have swollen up to three times their normal size! I have borderline high BP, so he wanted me to go in today and "Leave a urine specimin and check your BP" ok, simple enough. In and out, right? Wrong. The receptionist said I would need a full appt, and I was waiting there for nearly 2 hours because his partner was backed up... He said no protein in my pee, good! BP was 150/85 (not so good, but not horrible for me, either.) But he sent me in for labwork. Ick. They took 2 vials of blood, and pee. They're doing a urine analysis and platlet count, and a metolbolic panel.

I was also told to rest and elevate my feet as much as possible. Twist my arm...

We'll see what happens. I have to go in tomorrow for another BP check, and keep my regular appt Friday morning with my Dr.

We also went to preregister for the hospital today... so worse case, and they induce me this week, at least that's all taken care of!

Yikes!
Have you seen these hideous things? Boobahs?? They look exactly like easter-egg colored uncircumscised penises!! (With eyes and genital warts!)We saw the terrifying toys at Costco yesterday, and they MOVE, and you can pull the fur around their neck down and expose their penis-head heads! I was horrified! I pointed out their shocking resemblance to penises to Jeff, and he stood there slack-jawed for a second and then exclaimed "You're RIGHT!" and then proceeded to feign fellatio on the purple one. (http://www.picturetrail.com/dysenchanted)

I love that man!

Further research shows that they were "created" by the same sicko who came up with those Teletubbies. And the show is aimed at pre-schoolers! I can't believe that! We are SO previewing any TV shows before Travis watches them!

On another note... we saw a sneak-peek of Team America World Police. SO. Fucking. Funny.

Fallish
It's certainly Fall, allright. Yep. Something just feels Fallish. Sigh. I painted my toenails today!! You know you're damned impressed. They are even a nice Fall color... (OPI "Russian to a Party") and I am going to wear my brown suede thong sandals to lunch with my mom. It was a feat, though! (No pun intended) Picture me, 8 months preggo, naked and still wet from the shower, leaning over the bed with one foot propped up on a pillow. I did a pretty good job, IMO, if you don't count the polish that got on my sheet when I turned my foot sideways. Ha!

I also found manna from heaven. Well, at least to me it is! I was packing cosmetics up, and chucking away the old stuff. (3 year old Urban Decay eye liner, anyone?) I found at least three of those purse size bottles of Sephora Note Coco! Unopened! My favorite! AAH! I love it! They discontinued that scent almost two years ago, and I am running dangerously low on my stockpiled supply of shower gel that I bought from eBay. I love me some eBay. Yeppers.

Anyway... time to go now and lunch with my mom. Let you know how that goes. :) Wish me luck!

Decisions, decisions....
Sometimes I just have to laugh. The Universe does things that simultaneously baffle and amuse me.

We got a phone call yesterday afternoon at lunchtime. From the new owner of the condo that we were originally supposed to move into. He wanted us to know that if we were still interested we could have it, and sign a year lease.
He gave us the code to the lockbox so that we could go by and look at it again.

We did just that, and decided that the other apartment is the one we're going with.

We parked at the place we put the deposit on, and walked to the beach in less than 10 minutes.

Also, it's bigger than the condo, and the kitchen is MUCH better, with more cabinets, and it's open to the dining area via a breakfast bar. There are more windows, and no one above us, and only one neighbor next to us. There's more storage, and only one bathroom to keep clean. The location is better. A short walk to the beach, and a block from the park and a lake. Sure there's no pool. But then again, the condo had no dishwasher. With a new baby, that's SORTA important!

We can't have DirecTV, but we'll manage with Digital Cable. We'll sell our DirecTV TiVo and get a stand-alone model. No big deal.

I think we were given the opportunity to choose between them both, because we really appreciate now what we'll have. Weird how things work out, huh?

I go to lunch with my mom on Thursday. I haven't seen her sine my b-day lunch.

She's going to try and help me find a home for Mr. Kitty. Yep, it has to be.... the new place won't let us have pets, and we talked about this long before anyway... I'm sad to have to do this... I've had him 6 years, since he was a teensy tiny sickly kitten. Now he's a fat, sassy old gato.

But, he's also bastardly. He bites and scratches if you do something he doesn't like. (Which usually is only petting him! He'll go from purring to biting and scratching in no time flat.) He sheds a lot, and is not a cuddly kitty.

I don't know what would happen with the baby if he pulled his tail or something like kids do... Jeff and I both have scratches, and scars from this cat.
So, my mom is going to ask around church and friends and see if someone can take him.

I hope a little old lady adopts him so he can spend the last years of his life a spoiled rotten brat. Sigh. I see him right now, curled up asleep on the old couch - which he's shed all over and shredded with his claws, even though he has a 3 story kitty condo to himself! He's blissfully oblivious to all the stuff going on.... the packing material and boxes everywhere... the baby about to be here, but he hasn't a clue. I feel bad... but it will be better for us and better for him.
