Baby and cookies in the oven!
Mmm. cookies. For the last three hours I have been making and baking cookies. Oatmeal raisin and Chocolate chip. There are six dozen cookies in my kitchen right now. I've already had three 1 chocolate chip and two oatmeal. Three cookies, not three dozen! Good lord! The house smells so good right now. You can probably smell cookies from down the street.

I just got a wild hair, I guess. Anyway, I'll take some to work tomorrow. If my dad stops by today I'll send him home with some.

The first person noticed me being pregnant today. I should say the first "stranger" as my friends and family obviously know I'm preggers! I was in Long's looking at the cosmetics section, and the cosmetics manager looked over at me and smiled. The she asked "Are you having a boy or a girl?" I replied that I wasn't sure yet, but I hoped to find out very shortly. She told me she had four kids and only found out with the first one. She swears she just "knew" what the others were. I hope I'm that lucky. :)

I found the heartbeat this morning, It's getting a lot easier to find now. It's also much louder than it was before. I love laying in bed listening to it. Then the baby will move, and I'll find it again. The little one is already playing hide and seek with me!

I recorded the heartbeat with my cell phone's voice record so I can let people I know hear it. It's very cool! I'm so glad I have this doppler! I was going through a spell where my symptoms tapered off, and I started to worry that something was wrong. The doppler assured me that all was well.

Sigh... 16 weeks! I go the the Dr. next Thursday to have my AFP screening, and HOPEFULLY!!! an Ultrasound. I am so anxious to see the baby again, and to find out whether it's Ashley or Travis.

I was thinking of having pictures done of me & the pregnant belly for Jeff for Father's day. I have a couple of coupons for some free photos from Penney's and the Picture People. I'll have to wait and see if I'll have the time next week.

Anyway, gotta go get the last batch of cookies out of the oven and take my nap.

Bye bye.

PS: As I went to take my bra off before my nap, I noticed my nipples looked shiny. I gently squeezed both nipples, and a few drops of colostrum leaked out! What a trip!

Tada!
Because I'm feeling so incredibly lazy, I've found a site that will let me post photos for free. I know, I know... my husband owns a web company, and I have my images hosted with them, and my very own account with nifty FTP access... but then I have to code the entries so the pics show up each time, and size the pictures, and icky stuff like that.

So, in case you want to see what I look like, as well as my ever-expanding belly, go here: http://www.picturetrail.com/dysenchanted

Don't say I didn't warn you! :)

No, I am NOT having twins! Yes, I know that for a fact... three ultrasounds thus far can't be wrong.

I started out as "plus size" and since this is my 2nd pregnancy, even though I was only pregnant for a short time the first time, I was been told that I would "show" quite a bit quicker than most. Understatement of the year, although it makes me extraordinarily happy to see my tummy when I look down.

Plus, Jeff is always kissing on it and cuddling with it and cute stuff like that. :) He's such a sweetie!

There are a couple of pics of him as well. One of us together back in Dec. shortly after the miscarrage, and one of him holding our Godbaby Hailey at her 1st birthday a couple of weeks ago.

Also, the ubiquitous photos of her with icing all over her face! :) I just love her so much!! Hopefully I will be able to see her today... she had bronchitis earlier in the week. :(

Mangos... mmm.
I love my daddy! He brought me my favorite, dried mangos. MMM. Mangolicious. And pistachios. MMM. How did he know I've been craving sweet annd salty foods lately? I sent Jeff to Mc D's after work yesterday for some french fries. That's it, french fries. It's sad, huh?

On another note, my boobs are so sore, it hurts to not wear a bra. But wearing a bra at home bugs me. So what's the best solution?

To pout and whine and maybe they'll take pity on me and stop hurting.

Ha!

On another another note, I despise "Representative" Charles Rangel. He's on Joe Scarborough, and even though the sound is way down, I just know lies are spewing forth from his hateful mouth. Ick. The one person I hate more than him is Susan Estridge. And her voice? Ohmygod, nails across a chalkboard sounds like an ariata in comparison. Democrats really piss me off!

I heart you!
I found the baby's heartbeat this morning with the doppler! It was SO cool! Caught My Heart

I just had to call Jeff at work to tell him. I could tell he was tearing up. So sweet...

Today I'm off work. I nearly ripped my left thumbnail off doing dishes. I was pushing the sink stopper down with my thumb, and the button thing suddenly went all the way down, my thumbnail bent back about 1/2 past my fingertip. It started bleeding. OUCH! I have it bandaged up so I don't bump it on anything. It still hurts though. Thumbs Up

I just got back from the store, I am going to bake James a birthday cake. His b-day is today. A two layer Devil's Food cake with chocolate fudge frosting, with chocolate syrup and chopped Milk Chocolate Symphony bar in the middle layer, and the whole thing will be topped with Symphony bar shavings. It's going to be super yummy!

I'm listening to Jill Scott. I like her, she's a bit more urban than my tastes usualy run... but I really like her voice. Kinda like Alicia Keys and India Arie mixed together.

Anyway, oven's done preheating, gotta go start up my Kitchenaid mixer now!

There you are flutterbean!
Flutterbean is great!! The ultrasound showed him/her moving all over the place.

The dr. said that the bleeding is most likely coming from my placenta and cervix. The placenta is right over my cervix right now, but he assured me that it's perfectly normal. He said "The baby doesn't seem to care!" Whew!

We were also concerned because we rented a doppler, and haven't yet been able to find the heartbeat. We tried and tried to find it last night to reassure us, but no avail. It's a combination of the placenta blocking the doppler waves to the baby and me being overweight.

But today, babykins was moving, bouncing, kicking away, waving to us. And the heartbeat was as clear as day on the u/s.

We were SO relieved!!!

Spinning

I only wish we'd gotten a picture of the ultrasound. For some reason we didn't get one this time.

I Dunno

Whew. That was close. Hang in there little one!!!

Monkey 2

On that note, I just ate an entire avacado, sliced with salt and two hunt's banana cream pie pudding cups. Yum! How bizarre!

Lucky # 13?
Sigh. I'm spotting. Going to dr first thing tomorrow. We'll see what there is to see.

We had a great weekend, though. Saturday we went to Laguna Seca and watched the races from Jeff's company's Luxury Trackside Suite. Jeff drove Sal's Caddy around the racetrack once during the "fanlap" That was SO cool. We got to all be in the car, and it was really fun.

After that we went to San Jose to the mall there and bought some stuff at Old Navy. A maternity tankini for me, and a sleevelss maternity shirt with flowers, and some stuff for Hailey's birthday. Her b-day is Saturday, and she's turning 1. It's so hard to believe I was there watching her entrance into the world a YEAR ago! Woah.

Today my daddy came over and helped us with the gardening, and I made us all breakfast... maple smoked bacon cooked in the oven (SO much easier!) and eggs from one of my friend's chickens, and hashbrowns. Yummy!

Jeff and I went to Blockbuster (for the first time in ages!) and rented a Denzel Washington movie, "Out of Time" which I highly reccommend!

After the movie I got up to pee, and felt a small trickle. I thought my bladder was leaking, and when I went to the bathroom, I found bright red blood in the toilet, and in my underwear. I immediately called my Dr. at home. I was a bit hysterical. He calmed me down and said since I wasn't having any cramping that chances are good that everything is ok. I so hope so. I go in Moday morning first thing for an ultrasound.

Jeff and I cried a bit, both extremely concerned. I mean, I'm 13 weeks right now, just barely tiptoeing into the 2nd trimester... and what if???

Anyway... wish me luck.
